During this full day workshop, you will learn how to feel your way through life by connecting your body and your emotions.

Take a moment and tune into your body… are you aware of any physical sensations your body is having right now? Where do you feel it in your body? Your chest, your stomach...? What is the underlying emotion below the sensation? What are you feeling? Can you name it?

For most of us, this is incredibly challenging. We've only been taught how to silence, numb, avoid and ignore our feelings and our body sensations. 

We drug, we drink, we eat, we work, we shop, we fixate. 

I know, because I did that for 7 years. 
I gained 80lbs, checked out of life, avoided all floor length mirrors 
and declared war with my body.

I WAS MISERABLE!
I wanted nothing to do with my body.  
It was as if I went on lock down. 
I didn't cry, I had to drink to have sex, and I became my very own bully.
It wasn't until my anxiety became unmanageable and I got very sick that I had to try something different. 

Staying disconnected from my body wasn't giving me a life I loved. 

It only left me disconnected to life, experiencing it in 2D and living reactively out of suppressed anger, grief, sadness and resentment.

Everything first originates in the body. Not the mind. In order for emotional healing to take place, we have to do more than just talk about our feelings. We have to actually process them through the body. Physical sensations are the foundation to emotional awareness.


Spend the day with Mary...
Over the course of 5 hours, Mary will walk you through the basics of the mind body connection and gently guide you to healing your relationship with it. This will be a powerful day of reconnecting to your emotions and your body.

Lecture
Have you ever heard that different areas of your body represent different emotions? For example, complications with your thyroid could indicate issues speaking your truth or finding your voice. Complications with your lungs represent grief. Complications with your kidneys represent fear. During several hours together, we will explore each area of the body and how they manifest emotions. In a lecture style setting, learn how your body and your emotions are deeply connected and come to understand how your body speaks to you.
Experience
The best way to learn is through experience. If our goal is to connect with the body, then we must experience the body through movement and breathwork. Throughout the workshop, Mary will guide you through specific tools to help you get into your body and make peace with it. 
Most exercises will be with your eyes closed so that there is no comparison or emotional distraction. 
You will learn tools including gentle movement, body scanning, breathing, deep relaxation and more. 
Community
This workshop is intentionally kept intimate. We only have space for 20 people. Come together with other beautiful souls who are learning, growing and doing their work. This will be an environment you can feel safe in and hopefully walk out the door with a few new friends.

Do I need to be in physical shape to participate?No. All body types, shapes, sizes and athletic ability are welcome. We will be doing light stretching and gentle movement. 
Mary is a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor specializing in Plus-Size Yoga and can modify if needed. 
We will be sitting in chairs for the lecture portion of the workshop, and Mary will provide yoga mats for the experiential movement portion of the workshop. 
*Please bring a bolster or cushion if needed. 



Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?  
Yes within reason, if given enough advance notice. We can supply gluten free or vegetarian options for lunch easily. Please let us know if there is anything additional you wish to request. 

Where is the workshop held?
The workshop will be held in Nashville, Tennessee at White Avenue Event Space. 

Do I need to bring a water bottle or snacks? 
No, we will have water and snacks for you to access throughout the day as needed.
